Winston-Salem, NC August 18, 2009 - The All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA) will head to the Woodburn Dragstrip in Oregon on August 22-23 for the Screamin' Eagle Northwest Nationals presented by Team Latus Motors Harley-Davidson & Buell.
Spectators will see nationally ranked Harley-Davidson motorcyclists from the east and west coast battle it out on the quarter-mile track in 16 different classes. There is plenty of room and time in several of the AHDRA's classes for upsets and comeback championship titles with only two races to go!
Team Latus Motors Harley-Davidson & Buell is the presenting sponsor of the race this weekend. Included in the agenda is a pre-race "Nitro Party", held at the dealership Thursday evening before the racing begins.
Team Latus Motors Harley-Davidson & Buell Owner, George Latus said, "The AHDRA Northwest Nationals has always been a great event, especially for the spectators. It keeps growing and growing and we hope to keep it that way. I'm excited that the Top Fuel points are so close and all of the racers get to come out west"
Team Latus Motors HD racer, Steve Dorn, also commented that he was looking for forward to everyone coming out west. " The weather is expected to be great. The points are really close right now and we should have some really great racing this weekend," stated Dorn. He also wanted to say a special thanks to George Latus for sticking with him and his generosity.
Steve Dorn is current 3rd in the Screamin' Eagle Top Fuel points chase, 14pts behind the 2nd place racer, Joey Sternotti riding for Ray Price Harley Davidson, and 19pts behind the current leader, Jay Turner riding for Turning Racing.
